Linked to Google Photos

The photos below link to google photos albums.  I haven't done a lot of editing on my albums.  They contain the JPEGs from various trips.  One of these days I need to learn Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and edit the raw images and only post the good pictures.  Or at least have two links to everything and the edited highlights.  This page will be updated from time to time.  Google Photos recently added the ability to add text and maps to the albums.  I plan to add some text to these albums over time.  Please note all the links on this page will open up in another browser tab.

Lulu Lake - Nov 3, 2017

It wasn't a very good Autumn. But there are a few decent pictures here.

California by Train - My Severance Vacation in 2015

This was my big severance vacation in 2015 after I was laid off from IBM.  I had a nice severance package.  After flying over the country and around the world for several years I wanted to see things from the ground.  I took the Amtrak Southwest Chief from Chicago to LA.  I rented a Mustang convertible and drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco.  I spent some time in San Francisco.  And then I took the Amtrak California Zephyr from San Francisco (Emeryville, CA) to Chicago.  The Microsoft Sway link contains my iPhone photographs and has a day by day description of my trip.

For more photographs and a brief daily explanation use my MS Sway photographs. I had to break this into two separate Sways.

The Great North Woods

I took a second severance vacation.  It was a brief road trip to Northern Wisconsin.  My mother grew up around Park Falls, WI.  And my uncle currently lives in Hayward, WI.  I haven't been up to that area in many moons.  I drove up the Great River Road from Savanna, IL.  I crossed the Mississippi River to Iowa and drove on that side to Dubuque, IA.  I crossed the river back to Wisconsin and drove up the Great River Road to Prescott, WI.  I crossed the river to Minnesota where the road headed south again.  I quickly turned around again and meandered to Stillwater, MN where I crossed back into Wisconsin.  I drove from Route 35 which changes into Route 64 to Route 53 north and turned off on Route 63 and took that to Hayward, WI.  Click on the picture below to open up my Google Photos album of this brief trip.

Hawaii Vacation 2011

My last vacation to visit my parents on the Big Island.  One of my main motivations to visit Hawai'i is to go scuba diving.  We tend to do shore diving.  Over the years I have been to numerous shore diving sites.  Here is a decent link to the various shore diving sites on the big island.

The pictures below were taken with a new point and shoot camera with an underwater housing.  I am new at underwater photography.  I really need a decent flash and a filter or two to take better pictures.  But I mainly took the photographs for fun.  FYI...It is rather difficult to take photographs of fish as they do not cooperate.

IBM Travels

The following photographs were taken on various business trips while I worked for IBM.  They were taken with various point and shoot cameras.  And a few were taken with my iPhone.  Most of these trips were taken before the iPhone was released.  The pictures from the Cotswalds were taken with a disposable camera I bought from the guy renting the Triumph TR6.

Adding a few pictures from the Lexington Kentucky build.
